Why Ludwig Boltzmann is Awesome
Two reasons:

1: He killed himself because no one wanted to believe his science. He could see no other explanation for his data and theoretical results, yet he couldn't convince his colleagues that he was right (note: he was right).

2: His grave. The only thing on his tombstone, other than his name and born/died dates, is S = k. log W. He kills himself and all he wants is one permanent record of his science? Hard core, man, hard core. Also, look at it. I hope people remember me as looking that awesome after I'm gone.

That is pretty hardcore. I told this to my office-mate, and the guy next door over heard and added some stuff to this story. It wasn't that Boltzmann couldn't convince his colleagues he was correct, a lot of them actively and publicly ridiculed him for his theories.

The truly sad thing is that, when he killed himself, Einstein had just read some of his work, thought it was brilliant, and was preparing to contact him. If he had held on another couple of months, he would have been completely vindicated.
